We thought it would be interesting to let you in on a little bit of the process involved in coming up with a brand. The detective work, the brainstorming... oh some people just don't know what goes into it all! [insert laughing emoji here]. It's a lot of fun though and it's better with the synergy of two people!
In this example, we were trying to come up with a name. We had a concept of what we wanted to communicate. You get that concept down in writing. You keep writing down your ideas, no matter how silly they seem.
We look up definitions and synonyms of words. This actually sometimes ignites a new idea that we hadn't thought of. It's exciting because it's like going on a treasure hunt for the perfect fit.
So, let's take our #EmpowerYourPunch marketing strategy for our branding services. Punch was a synonym of a word we were searching. One definition for punch was: "the power to impress or startle." We were like... ohhhhhh!!!!!! Likey!!!! We liked the sound of that! We started writing down phrases: Punch Your Life, Increase Your Punch, A Firm Punch, Raise Your Punch. Just kept writing them down. Then as we came up with phrases, sometimes we would look up more definitions. We are looking for the thing that "clicks" completely with the concept in one's mind. We want that POW factor!
It's brainstorming, detective work. Your brand is who you are, what do you stand for, how are you different, your message, what people should think of when they think of you. It's creating your identity that you will be remembered for. It's got to grab people's attention and find a way to connect with your audience. Something they can relate to and follow.
